Isles Shutout on Road Against Checkers, 3-0

Charlotte, NC— The Bridgeport Islanders stepped into Bojangles Coliseum on Friday night to battle the top affiliate of the Florida Panthers. In the divisional game, the Isles couldn’t muster the offense necessary and left the game without any additional points in the standings after losing, 3-0.

Islanders Lose in Road Rematch to Checkers, 2-0

Charlotte, NC – In a rematch from the previous night, the Bridgeport Islanders battled the Charlotte Checkers for the final time on the road during the regular season. Trying to avenge the previous night’s defeat, the Isles stepped onto the ice at Bojangles Coliseum with victory on their mind. The Isles entered the final period down and ultimately were unable to manage the goals necessary to win the contest. 

 

Roster Updates:

  • Bridgeport will play Charlotte one final time during the regular season at home on March 25th in an effort to tie the season series. 
  • Matt Luff continues to lead the team in points with 17 goals and 28 assists for 45 points in 50 games played. 
  • Adam Beckman went 25 games without a single penalty minute before his 20 penalty minutes in Charlotte on Saturday. 
  • Hunter Drew and Matt Luff managed a team high four shots on goal during Saturday’s game on Charlotte
  • Sean Day is week to week with a lower body injury
  • Joey Larson is out day to day with an upper body injury 
  • Eetu Liukas is out indefinitely with an upper body injury
