Bridgeport Takes Point in Thrilling 5-4 Shootout Loss

Bridgeport, CT – The Bridgeport Islanders took the ice Wednesday morning for their much-anticipated School Day game in front of a sold-out crowd, riding the momentum of a two-game winning streak. In an exciting contest, the Islanders forced overtime with 38 seconds remaining but fell to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in a 5-4 shootout loss.  Full Story…

 

Friday, November 14: 

Islanders Can’t Hold Off Pens Third Period Surge in 5-3 Defeat

Wilkes-Barre, PA – Riding a three-game point streak, the Islanders rolled into the Mohegan Arena in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton to battle the Penguins for the second game in a row. Previously, on Wednesday morning, the team managed to add a point in the standings after a shootout loss at home. Saturday, November 15: 

Islanders Defeated at Home by Americans in 5-3 Decision

Bridgeport, CT –   The Bridgeport Islanders returned home for a Sound Tigers Saturday, looking for a win against the Rochester Americans. Despite falling behind 3-1 in the first period, the Islanders fought back to tie the game at 3, but it ultimately wasn’t enough as they lost to the Americans 5-3.  Full Story

 

Roster Notes:

  • Chris Terry’s game on Saturday was his 898th in his AHL career. 
  • Marc Gatcomb’s goal on Saturday vs. Rochester was his 50th point in his AHL career.
  • Marcus Hogberg played his 98th AHL game on Saturday. 
  • Julien Gauthier returned to the lineup on Saturday in his first game since 11/24/24 at Hartford. He scored a goal in his return and ended the game +1.
  • Joey Larson is tied for 1st place amongst AHL rookies in goals scored with seven. 
  • Matthew Maggio’s six game assist streak (10A) ended on Saturday against the Americans. It was the longest point streak of any Islanders player thus far this season.
  • Marshall Warren registered his second three-point night of the season when he tallied three assists on Saturday night vs. Rochester. Previously, Warren’s three-point night (2G, 1A) happened on October 12th at home against the Belleville Senators.
  • Each of Cam Berg’s four goals this season were the first goal scored in four different games which leads the league in that category. 
  • Isaiah George is day to day with an upper body injury.
  • Liam Foudy is week to week with a lower body injury.
