Feb 22, 2026

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Returning to Total Mortgage Arena for their third game in three days and the latter half of a back-to-back with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, the Bridgeport Islanders were blanked by their Atlantic Division rivals, 4-0.

While the opening period ended scoreless, the Islanders peppered Sergei Mursahov with 12 shots on goal, which included five in the span of 52 seconds, while Henrik Tikkanen denied Filip Hallander on a breakaway in the period's final seconds.

Wilkes-Barre/Scranton took a 1-0 lead 4:29 into the second period thanks to Tanner Howe, who found room in the slot and buried the opening tally for his fifth point in his last three games. The Penguins struck again 16:31 into the frame as Phil Kemp launched a slapshot from the point past Tikkanen for his third of the season.

Wilkes-Barre/Scranton added two goals during a five-minute major penalty in the third period, courtesy of Gabe Klassen and Aidan McDonough, to ice the contest.

The Islanders return to action on Wednesday Feb. 25 for a home contest against the Charlotte Checkers, with puck drop slated for 7 p.m. Tickets are available on https://www.bridgeportislanders.com/.
