Apr 21, 2020

The all-new weekly podcast hosted by Sound Tigers play-by-play broadcaster Alan Fuehring, "Sound Up" takes an in-depth, behind-the-scenes look inside the minds of a current player and front office member for the New York Islanders' American Hockey League affiliate.

Each podcast drops on Thursday nights at 7 p.m. ET on the team's official Facebook, Twitter and SoundCloud accounts. Episode 2 features a conversation with veteran forward Colin McDonald and Webster Bank Arena General Manager Matt Herpich as they both patiently quarantine at home during the coronavirus pandemic.

McDonald is a three-time AHL All-Star and former Willie Marshall Award winner as the league's top goal scorer (42, 2010-11). He served as an alternate captain during the 2019-20 season after spending each of the last four years as captain of the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. A native of Wethersfield, Conn., McDonald and his wife, Lexi, are enjoying their time in Milford during this current pause with their one-year-old daughter, Ryleigh.

Herpich, a 12-year industry veteran, was named GM of Webster Bank Arena on Feb. 21, 2019 by Oak View Group Facilities, which manages the venue. Prior to relocating to Bridgeport, Conn., Herpich was General Manager of SeatGeek Stadium in Chicago IL. He also served as General Manager at Cross Insurance Arena in Portland ME; the Wolstein Center on the campus of Cleveland State University in Cleveland OH; and the USC Aiken Convocation Center in Aiken SC.

Herpich leads Oak View Group Facilities’ on-site team and oversee the day-to-day operations of Webster Bank Arena, including booking events.

Webster Bank Arena has been a staple of the Bridgeport community since it opened in 2001, hosting nearly 150 events each year, including sporting events, family shows, concerts by world-famous musicians and much more. In addition to 10,000 seats, Webster Bank Arena features 68 suites of varying sizes, three large hospitality areas and a state of the art, 30×16 ft., high-definition video board.
